|SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES • Bachelor's Degree in sales, marketing, business, engineering or equivalent technical degree • 5+ years technical sales or engineering experience • 3+ years fiber optic industry sales experience preferred • Demonstrated in-depth sales and marketing techniques and financial principles • Ability to effectively communicate orally or in written form with management, distributors, and customers • Ability to effectively demonstrate product line, measure insertion and return loss, and integrate customer systems with product line • Ability to anticipate and solve practical problems or resolve issues • Understanding of target market for OptoTest • Knowledge of ISO 9001:2008 • Detail Oriented with the Ability to See the Overall Picture • Computer and software proficient • Bilingual or Multilingual skills are a plus |
PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL ELEMENTS • Performance of duties and tasks uses standard office equipment, lasers, fiber optic polishing tools, fiber optic testing equipment, and handheld scopes • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms and requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies up to 20 pounds. • Reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist and lifting as required to present and demonstrate product line to customers throughout the work day • Frequent lifting up to thirty pounds • Availability during office hours (with the exception of customer appointments) • Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and vehicle is required • Valid passport • This position requires up to 75% travel. Frequently travel is outside the local area and overnight. Some of the travel can be international. • Exposure to a wide variety of unknown environmental conditions including noise, fumes, odors, gases, airborne particles, and hazards; when visiting customers and traveling
