|Under general supervision, implements specific research plans for fundraising programs and activities from within Corporate and Foundation Relations. Conducts research on corporations, and foundations to identify prospects. Works with staff to research and summarize financial and biographical information on organizational donors and prospects. Access, interpret and analyze a broad range of internal and external information resources in order to: Ã¯ Help edit briefings for meetings between campus fundraisers and senior University officials including Vice Chancellors and the Chancellor and high-level corporate and foundation prospects and donors. Briefings highlight the comprehensive relationship between the University and the corporation or foundation and the goals the campus has vis a vis those prospects or donors. Ã¯ Compose Ã¬nutshell profilesÃ® on corporate and foundation prospects. Ã¯ Complete other research reports as determined by Director and Associate Directors. Ã¯ Complete reports on giving for meetings with senior University officials including Vice Chancellors and Deans. Ã¯ Identify foundation and corporate prospects for department and campus-wide units. Ã¯ Under general direction from Director and Associate Directors, identify, obtain, and interpret complex financial disclosures, including corporate reports, and foundation and nonprofit organization tax reports (IRS 990). |
Under general supervision, implements specific research plans for fundraising and alumni relations programs and activities from campus units. Ã¯ Identify and deliver new prospects to individual fundraisers and units, based on prospect background, capacity, interests, and on fundraising unit priorities and needs. Ã¯ Use established protocols and individual analysis to formulate and apply capacity and inclination ratings for corporate and foundation prospects, updating and enhancing as new information is ascertained. Ã¯ Develop in-depth knowledge of corporate and foundation campus prospects; with the Senior Research Analyst, build the overall fundraising knowledge-base on corporations and foundations. Ã¯ Under the general direction of the Senior Research Analyst, conduct proactive research by retrieving and analyzing large volumes of information from local, national and international resources, financial and philanthropic reports, reference materials, and university files. Ã¯ Identify research needs and potential resources and make recommendations to management and colleagues. Ã¯ Stay abreast of fundraising news by reading the daily news alerts from Research Analyst. Ã¯ Participate in regular professional development activities related to information retrieval and management, customer service, and fundraising. (This could something to strive towards.)
Prepares support materials for specific fundraising activities and/or assists in promotional efforts such as writing, speaking, telephoning, et cetera, as required. Ã¯ Independently compose correspondence on behalf of the Chancellor, Vice Chancellor, and others to organizational donors and prospects, including follow-up correspondence after visits and events. Ã¯ Prepare proposal packages and reports as necessary. Ã¯ Coordinate the signing and execution of all Gift/Grant Agreements that accompany donations to the University, ensuring their timely handling and distribution to affected departments. Ã¯ Manage schedules of donor meetings, events, and visits. Ã¯ Contacts donors and prospects independently to coordinate proposal submissions.
Manages and/or contributes to systems in CFR. Ã¯ Utilize advancement development subscription information services and know strengths and weaknesses; provide basic training and recommendations as needed. Ã¯ Update and enhance relevant information in CADS, the campusÃs fundraising database, as needed; notify all fundraisers and interested parties of new and/or updated information. Ã¯ Communicate and work together with Gift Administration to ensure the information in CADS is correct. Aid GA in updating CADS whenever it is incorrect, by working with campus fundraisers to obtain the correct documentation. Ã¯ Ensure secure handling of sensitive data, adhering to federal, state and campus laws and policies relating to confidentiality. Ã¯ Perform other duties as assigned.
Under general supervision, assists in implementing specific activities for specific fundraising and alumni relations programs and activities. Ã¯ Coordinate and prepare meeting agendas for campus visits of prospects and donors with appropriate faculty, campus officials, and staff. Arrange special donor events such as luncheons, receptions, and dinners. Handle event follow-up activities. Ã¯ Organize Corporate and/or Foundation prospects campus visits, coordinating agenda with the respective deans, faculty and unit development personnel Ã¯ Organize and prepare travel and entertainment reimbursement vouchers.Ã¯ Some knowledge of techniques and methodologies of research, with a particular focus on special requirements of donor/prospect research.
