The Rockefeller University seeks a Laboratory Administrator to join Laboratory of Neurogenetics of Language. The Laboratory Administrator will oversee the office and laboratory of the Principal Investigator, and affiliated labs co-lead by the Principal Investigator at Rockefeller University and Hunter College. Will manage the PI's schedule, including international scientific consortiums, arranging travel, and scheduling and coordinating meetings and activities of laboratory staff and visitors, conferences, and special events. Will assist investigator, laboratory staff, and visiting scholars with completing and submitting travel reimbursement and expense reports. Responsibilities include processing all laboratory personnel and adjunct appointments, including new hires and terminations, correspondences and interactions with government officials, collaborators, and Rockefeller University staff, scheduling safety, animal and other required training sessions, arranging for e-mail accounts, IDs and building access, ensuring that all paperwork for HR and Payroll is prepared according to guidelines and submitted in a timely manner, and coordinating visa requests for international employees to work within the United States. The Laboratory Administrator will also handle grant and fellowship applications and administration, write progress reports and other administrative demands of grant application, manage lab finances, including budget accounting of large accounts, private grants, and federal grants. Will participate in, support and prioritize a wide range of projects, identify individuals needed, coordinate meetings, distribute data as necessary, and perform other miscellaneous administrative duties as required. Will monitor the lab's computer and file storage system, perform complex document preparation assignments (including composing, proofreading, researching, compiling letters and/or special reports), and act as a lab liaison to the rest of the university and scientific community.
