The Division of Physical and Biological Sciences (PBSci) provides general science education for all UCSC undergraduates, educates undergraduate science and engineering majors, and maintains research and graduate programs of national and international stature. The division is comprised of departments and programs of study, organized research units, instructional and research programs to attract and retain a diverse population of students, and a variety of support programs and facilities. Physical and Biological Sciences' annual state budget is approximately $30 million with another $46 million of extramural research funding from over 100 different funding agencies, currently supporting about 1800 employees: 200 faculty, 250 staff, 500 academic student employees, 300 Researchers/Specialists/Postdoctoral Scholars, 200 undergraduate student employees, 130 courtesy appointments, and 200 volunteer appointments.
Under direction of the PBSci Senior Stores Supervisor, the PBSci Receiving/Delivery/Shipping Coordinator will work with a high degree of independence and as part of a team, as a key participant in the Division's high-volume, two-person Receiving and Delivery operation to provide receiving, delivery, and shipping in support of research and teaching for the PBSci Division, and some support to School of Engineering and Social Sciences divisions.
Ability to prioritize your own work and that of others, and to work independently with little or no supervision.
Excellent organizational, time management, record-keeping, and problem-solving skills and work habits.
Strong attention to detail.
Substantial receiving, delivery and warehouse experience, or comparable experience.
Ability to use a variety of delivery equipment, including various power and manual delivery equipment and vehicles, and hand tools.
