Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Manages several areas of responsibility within the Office of Financial Aid to achieve departmental goals and assure regulatory and statutory compliance. Systems specialist to include support and testing for implementation of regulatory deliveries and daily operations.
Policies and Procedures
Independently monitor, interpret and analyze policy and regulatory requirements, provide direction, develop and coordinate implementation plans and RCBC policy changes as needed. Assist the Financial Aid Director in monitoring policy, regulatory and statutory initiatives at the Institution, State and Federal levels, evaluating and notifying the Director and Dean of Enrollment Management of relevant implications. Develop or revise institutional policy and procedures to comply with deferral or state statutes and regulations in the administration of federal Title IV financial aid programs as well as institutional programs.
Compliance and Regulatory Analysis
Review, test and assess current internal procedures and processes and revise as necessary. Conduct internal review and audit of business rules, operational processes and actions of systems and staff to assure compliance with federal, state and institutional regulations and statutes.
Responsible for the oversight, implementation and evaluation of projects within the Office of Financial Aid. Duties include the proposal of new initiatives and services as well as the development of the conceptual framework for the implementation of such projects. Analyze the impact of new projects and initiatives on the operational procedures and policies and provide direction and coordination of such projects.
Provide leadership and direction to the Financial Aid Office in the development and implementation of training materials, programs and curricula for comprehensive training for all functional areas, to include financial aid specific training, internal computing and professional development. Coordinate problem solving in policy and procedure areas that affect various areas of the office, including Information Systems, Student Services and Fiscal areas.
Relationships and Authorities
Working with technical staff (OIT) to identify and resolve system problems Provides leadership and support, in the absence of the Director, to a variety of internal college constituents. Maintains website content Has the authority to request changes to Colleague security access levels
