The Facilities Manager is responsible for all equipment & staff relating to the Plant Operations departments at the downtown campuses.
Responsible for proper functioning of all major equipment relating to heating, ventilation, and air conditioning at the Downtown Campuses
Oversees the Housekeeping Supervisors at the Downtown Campuses as they carry out their responsibilities
Responsible for setting up and overseeing maintenance of plant equipment to ensure its proper functioning
Train and supervise the Housekeeping Supervisors on complex assortments of equipment
Recommend outside vendors where applicable
Direct Supervisors in emergency situations
Act as liaison with senior administrative staff at each campus
Responsible for campus budgets and for planning of capital projects
Experience and Educational Background:
7-10 years of experience in a management position
Skills and Competencies
Specific experience in the engineering/HVAC fields
Speaks clearly and expresses self well in one-on-one conversations and groups
Develops effective written communications and uses them appropriately
Interacts and proactively shares information with internal and external contacts where appropriate
Must be proficient in Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Filemaker Pro, and other computer programs
Ability to handle financial budgets and create Excel spreadsheets
Interpersonal communication skills are a must insofar as this position interfaces with virtually every department throughout the University; writing skills are very important in the preparation of reports for this position's activities
Excellent organizational skills are needed because of the multiple campus locations that are supported by this position
Models a positive attitude and takes initiative as a self-starter
Applies learning from past experiences to improve future efforts
