The University of Iowa department of Facilities Management is seeking a Construction Quality Manager who will be responsible for the delivery of capital improvement projects specifically focusing on commissioning and quality objectives of building systems including HVAC, building envelope, utilities and access and security to help ensure that systems are constructed for optimal system and function performance as intended by each individual project design.

Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering or a related field or an equivalent combination of related education and experience.
3-5 years of practical experience in building systems design or project management.
Requires a broad based knowledge of commissioning activities both during design and construction.
Strong working knowledge of civil, architectural, mechanical and electrical work including construction contract document preparation and administration; specification preparation and interpretation; and a basic understanding of current federal, state, and local environmental rules, regulations, and building codes.
Proficient in computer software applications.
Familiarity with construction site safety guidelines.
Excellent communication (written and verbal) and problem solving skills.
Ability to work with a diverse group of staff at all levels of an organization.
1-3 years of experience in project management of projects in design or construction on a university campus.
Experience with project management software, laboratory and/or MEPT capital improvement projects and/or state building inspection procedures.
Demonstrated knowledge of HVAC systems, including energy management system interfaces.
Demonstrated skills and abilities to negotiate optimal and acceptable outcomes among competing opinions and interest.
Ability to provide clarity and direction to complex and ambiguous problems and challenges.
Experience in a customer focused, team-oriented environment.
