The University of Nebraska Medical Center College Of Dentistry is seeking an experienced academic leader in dental education to serve as the Associate Dean for Education. This is a full-time tenure/tenure track position at the associate or full professor level. The Associate Dean for Education is the chief administrative officer for all of our academic programs: DDS, advanced dental education and dental hygiene and will serve as a liaison to UNMC academic affairs. The Associate Dean for Education will supervise faculty and staff in the areas of Advanced Education/Graduate Studies, Admissions & Student Affairs, Academic Services, and Faculty Development. The successful candidate must have extensive teaching experience, excellent verbal and written communication skills; problem-solving and decision making skills and excellent interpersonal skills. The successful candidate must also be a visionary and have demonstrated the ability to work with faculty, staff and students. Experience with curriculum development, academic planning and program assessment, knowledge of academic regulations and CODA accreditation are preferred. Additional expectations include a demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusivity and passion about educational excellence and innovation. Current academic initiatives include advancing interprofessional education, new educational and clinical technologies, integration of basic and clinical sciences, and curriculum innovation.
The candidate must have at least 10 years of experience in dental education and 5 years in a leadership position with supervisory roles at an accredited institution. The preferred candidate will have a master's degree or higher and clinical experience.
Experience with the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) and the institutional self-assessment process and on site accreditation visit process.
