| Reporting to the Director of Donor Engagement with a dotted line to the Assistant Director of Development Marketing and Communications, the Development Communications Coordinator works closely with internal clients to schedule, produce, distribute, manage, and recommend improvements to a wide range of digital communications that support the Law School's alumni relations and fundraising activities. These communications include broadcast emails, web pages, electronic newsletters, event publicity, and additional print and digital collateral as needed. |
Specific responsibilities include:
Manages email traffic and web site updates, and maintains a digital communications calendar to schedule and monitor progress, and ensure that deadlines are met. Works closely with colleagues in Alumni Relations and fundraising to proactively gather information, request timely approvals, resolve issues, and keep projects on track. Keeps colleagues updated on progress and next steps.
Schedules, produces, tests, and sends broadcast emails to alumni, students, and other targeted groups using the University's email broadcast tools.
Creates and updates web pages as requested and makes recommendations to improve existing pages in the Alumni section of the Harvard Law School website. Monitors and maintains these web pages to ensure that content is timely, up to date, and accurate, and identifies ways to enhance the Alumni Center's web presence.
Regularly tracks and reviews email and web site analytics to inform communications planning and measure success of marketing and communications efforts.
Ensures that all communications are of the highest quality through a focus on detail; a knowledge of best practices; and proficient writing, proofreading, and design ability.
Develops and maintains accurate and accessible files and systems of organization and archiving, including completed projects (for example, a log of emails sent each year), photo library, art files, and other materials.
Works closely with colleagues in the Law School's Communications team and Online team to gather information and materials, collaborate on projects, and learn about and implement new tools and resources.
Participates in new initiatives, as well as ongoing department-wide efforts, such as Reunion staffing, assisting with special events, etc.
Completes other duties, as assigned.
