Visit: www.holyrosaryhealthcare.org Description A qualified Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) responsible for the management of nurse anesthesia services in collaboration with departments of anesthesia, surgery, OB, and nursing administration. Develops and interprets organizational policies; assumes responsibility for safe and proper operation and quality control of equipment, techniques, and procedures; and analyzes and evaluates activities to assure established quality patient care. Provides clinical services as a nurse anesthetist and administer various types of anesthesia, provide therapeutic and diagnostic procedures, and airway management of patients undergoing surgical, OB, diagnostic or therapeutic procedures and airway management for any critical care or Emergency Room patient at Holy Rosary Healthcare and share on-call responsibilities with anesthesia staff in order to provide continuous anesthesia coverage 24 hours per day/7 days a week/365 days a year. Qualifications EDUCATION Required:
MSN Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
Graduate of a Nurse Anesthesia Educational Program accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs or its predecessor. CERTIFICATION, REGISTRATION,LICENSE Required:
Must hold a current unencumbered state licensure as a Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN-Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist – CRNA) in the state of Montana
Current certification as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists which also must be maintained.
Current and unencumbered Prescriptive authority in the State of Montana and an active DEA license must be maintained.
Must have and maintain BLS, ACLS and PALS Certification
Practices within the Scope of Practice as outlined by The Montana Board of Nursing and the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists.
Must maintain CEU and peer chart review per applicable accreditation guidelines.
Must maintain appropriate liability insurance providing certificate of liability insurance coverage. Preferred:
NRP Certification EXPERIENCE Required:
At least 2 to 4 years of experience in the patient care setting.
Minimum of at least 1 year CRNA experience
Experience working in Critical Care Units, Operating and Recovery Rooms
Knowledgeable regarding the nursing process and its application, including the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care.
Knowledgeable regarding anesthesia equipment and monitoring according to established guidelines. Preferred:
