Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Senior Student Program Coordinator for Rutgers Residence Life. The Senior Student Program Coordinator reports to the Assistant Director for Living- Learning Communities and Academic Initiatives. Their primary role is to enhance the living-learning experience by managing the planning, implementation and support of residential diversity and inclusion programs within Residence Life. This position will work to assess the needs for programming and professional development opportunities focused on diversity and inclusion within Residence Life. Among the key duties are the following:
Responsible for the development, oversight and implementation of a diversity peer education team/ambassadors and a departmental Diversity Committee that will develop short-term plans for the department regarding areas of diversity and inclusivity.
Works under the leadership of the Assistant Director for Living- Learning Communities and Academic Initiatives to support the development of cultural and identity based Living-Learning Communities.
Serves as chief liaison to the Cultural Center Collaborative within the Division of Student Affairs.
The Collaborative is committed to supporting the needs of Rutgers' campus communities by creating a welcoming and holistic learning environment for all members of the community, inclusive of all identities and allies.
Focuses on the increasing opportunities for collaboration between the Collaborative (consisting of all the cultural centers) and Residence Life.
Home Location Campus: Cook (RU-New Brunswick)
2 or more years of full-time experience in Residential Life or Housing, a demonstrated ability to work with diverse students and staff, experience implementing and facilitating programming, and excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict management skills are required
