Join the team that conceptualizes, designs and builds websites at Penn’s School of Arts and Sciences. Participate in every part of the website development process, from initial discovery sessions with stakeholders to design review to site building and launch. Penn Arts and Sciences delivers most of its web presence using Drupal, an open source CMS. As a top-ranked university with active faculty and staff developing programs across a wide range of disciplines, there is constant demand for new and innovative websites.
We are looking for a Drupal Developer responsible for front-end development, Drupal site building, and theming. This position requires a combination of web programming skills and the ability to implement and adapt design documents. The best candidates will have a strong understanding of industry trends and content management systems, and the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. In addition, an understanding of the entire web development process, including design, development and deployment, with some back-end knowledge, is preferred.
Develop effective and visually appealing websites for academic departments and programs in the School of Arts and Sciences. Consult and advise with faculty and staff stakeholders about project requirements, website best practices, and communication objectives. Use project management tools to adjust milestones, tasks, and resources needed as projects develop, keeping all team members and stakeholders up to date throughout. Maintain communication from project inception to launch and beyond.
Work closely with designers and stakeholders to develop an intuitive Drupal theme that incorporates modern responsive design principles. Develop and program custom features, views, and functionality as needed on a per-project basis.
Provide training to stakeholders. Maintain and enhance websites already in production.
Develop and refine QA processes that can be implemented as appropriate both before and after launch.
Work with technical team members to coordinate website launches, security reviews, and troubleshoot problems.
