This position is responsible for procurement, pricing, inventory management, and control of all pharmacy purchases, including 340B. Assist the Director in establishing specifications for the procurement of pharmaceuticals. Researches best possible source of procurement with the goal of achieving maximum contract compliance in collaboration with the Centura Corporate Buyers. Maintains system of purchasing history to include borrowing or requesting credits. Evaluates and orders narcotics based on facility process for ordering and in conjunction with DEA requirements. Will have oversight and audit responsibility for 340B compliance for ordering medications. This position is full time.
Minimum Education Requirements
High School Diploma or GED required Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or Pharmacy related field preferred OR Associate pharmacy technician degree and work related experience of 4 years as a pharmacy technician and/or pharmacy buyer OR Certified technician and work related experience of 8 years as a pharmacy technician and/or pharmacy buyer
Minimum Experience Requirements
Proficiency in common office productivity software and operating systems such as: Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access Preferred 1 year hospital pharmacy experience as a pharmacy technician or as outlined in the education requirements Knowledge of medical terminology and drug nomenclature Strong work ethic to provide comprehensive reports and consistently set and meet appropriate deadlines.
