We are currently looking to recruit a contractor to support the direct and indirect tax teams in Asia. The Tax Reporting team manages global group tax compliance and the accuracy and integrity of the Group tax balances. This person will assist the Finance and Tax Advisory Division and provide taxation support to all areas and manages the Bank's relationship with revenue authorities and tax advisers. This person will work closely with Finance, Tax Advisory and all Businesses in the Asia region and have dealings with external advisors & revenue authorities.
This person will support both corporate and indirect taxes for the Asian region and will help consolidate Asia's tax results and reporting them to head office. They will provide tax reporting support for the Asia region including front, back and middle offices and will liaise with Finance in the Asia region to review all tax compliance to ensure the group is meeting all responsibilities within each relevant jurisdiction. This individual will advise the business and Finance on indirect tax issues, including reviewing and advising on the transaction tax consequences (including compliance) of ad hoc transactions. Provide technical supports and assisting in systems and accounting focussed projects and prudential reviews. They will manage tax audits, compliance reviews and all other revenue authority interactions and help with the application of internal tax division policies, processes and controls relating to transaction taxes. They will also review and document key tax policies and compliance procedures and maintain other documentation including country procedure manuals. Identifying and implementing process improvements.
We are looking for qualified chartered accountants or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience advising on GST/VAT and other transaction taxes in Asia preferably with investment banking knowledge. Candidates with exposure to multi-national tax accounting and compliance issues and experience rolling out standardised processes across multiple jurisdictions
