Bullis School, a co-educational, K-12, nondenominational day school in Potomac, Maryland, seeks innovative, energetic and dedicated candidates to teach Middle School English. The position begins in August 2017 and involves teaching four to five classes. A full-time teaching position also includes other roles within the community, including student advising and additional duties as assigned by the division principal. The ideal candidate will have experience planning student-centered, innovative lessons in course-aligned teams and leading students in inquiry based learning. The candidate will value interdisciplinary thinking and can expertly guide our students as they develop a deeper understanding of our interconnected world through the study of English. This position is also responsible for curriculum development to support a growing Humanities and Global Studies (HGS) program.
Qualified candidates will possess an undergraduate degree in English or a related field at minimum. A graduate degree in related fields with secondary education concentration preferred. Candidates must have a minimum of three years’ teaching experience, preferably with Middle School students. Teaching certificates are not required.
