The University of California, San Francisco Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging and the San Francisco Veterans Affairs Health Care System (SF VAHCS) / Zuckerberg San Francisco General (ZSFG) Hospital are seeking a full-time Interventional/ General Imaging radiologist at the SF VAHCS and ZSFG. The selected candidate will be appointed at the level of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor in the Clinical X, in-Residence, or HS Clinical series depending on qualifications and interests.
Faculty responsibilities include clinical service, teaching and research. Clinical responsibilities include effectively and safely performing the full gamut of Interventional Radiology procedures, including basic procedures such as drainage procedures, IVC filters, central venous access procedures and dialysis access procedures, and more complex cases such as embolizations, stent placements, and Interventional Oncology procedures. Responsibilities include the broad range of general imaging, fluoroscopy, and cross-sectional imaging. The selected candidate will supervise and teach residents, fellows and medical students in Interventional and General Imaging. Obligations will include clinical work at the San Francisco Veterans Affairs Health Care System and Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital. Faculty are also expected to develop a clinical or more basic research program in the area of one's specialty focus.
The equipment at the SF VAMC includes state-of-the-art GE 750 HD and Revolution CT scanners, Philips iQon CT scanner to be installed in 2017, GE PET/CT, 4 GE Logiq E9 scanners with 3D capability, multiple Siemens MRI scanners including 3 Siemens Skyra 3T, AvantoFit 1.5T and a 7T MRI for research as well as a fully equipped 3D Imaging Laboratory with multiple advanced workstations. Equipment at ZSFG includes state-of-art Siemens dual source and dual energy CT scanners, Siemens Skyra 3T MRI scanner, Siemens S3000 ultrasound scanners, and state-of-art vascular and interventional labs, and an interventional 3T MRI system to be installed in 2017.
The position requires a current MD degree, and eligibility for a California medical license, and completion of fellowship training preferably in Interventional Radiology and/or Cross Sectional Imaging. Applicants must be board certified (or eligible) in Diagnostic Radiology.
