Responsibilities: Building Safety and Operations
Responsible for the security and safety of all library users, resources, collections and equipment and for ensuring that the library environment is conducive to learning
Serve as a library contact with Pew Campus Security and Operations
Participates in emergency preparedness training and Implements emergency procedures and communicates with emergency personnel as needed
Identifies and reports technology and facilities related problems and helps reduce energy use in the building
Oversees closing of the library
Works regular shifts at the single service point, overseeing all activity, including the frontline services provided by student employees. This requires active engagement with student employees to identify teachable moments, provide coaching and feedback, and to gain perspective on what students are seeing around the building.
Delivers exemplary customer service by maintaining satisfactory levels of competency in a number of diverse areas associated with our single service point
Oversees student employees during assigned shifts
Provides reference assistance requiring significant knowledge of the library's services, holdings, website and online databases
Assists with implementation of various UX initiatives aimed at understanding and improving user experience
Assists Pew Campus Operations Manager with the design and implementation of student training
Roams the library to collect data, answer questions, and help with facilities and security-related issues
Assist with compiling and organizing UX data
Participates in the promotion of library services
Access and Delivery
Assists with coordination of ASRS and stacks management projects
Effectively communicates ASRS issues with the Pew Campus Libraries Operations Manager or ASRS vendor when needed
Locates, obtains and digitizes Document Delivery requests
Prepares course reserve materials for electronic access, utilizing a suite of software and hardware
Prepares items for interlibrary delivery
Locates, obtains, and makes available resources requested by patrons
Assists with projects as assigned
Develops and maintains thorough knowledge of job
Works collaboratively and cooperatively with librarians and staff within unit, across the library organization, and across the university and the larger community
Manages professional relationship and responsibilities in a manner that reflects well on the University Libraries

Standard Hours for this position: Tuesday - Thursday: 1:30pm – 10:00pm Friday: 12:30pm - 9:00pm Saturday: Noon - 9:00pm *Hours can vary based on Holidays, semester breaks and changes in summer hours
