As a Research Technician, you will be part of a team investigating novel immunotherapies in the pre-clinical and correlative setting. This work supports a larger, institutional effort to develop and clinically test investigational immunotherapies and combinations of immunotherapies with novel agents. Primary responsibilities will be to perform, under general supervision, a variety of routine and specialized laboratory tests and animal experiments, specimen preparations and experimental procedures and will assist in the use of specialized laboratory equipment and analysis of data generated by this equipment. Technicians will also be using all laboratory equipment that is necessary for the preparation and analysis of bone marrow transplant research, including but not limited to flow cytometry and ELISAs.
Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:
*Animal handling, including intravenous and intraperitoneal injections, analysis of health and weight progression, harvesting organs, and any other necessary procedures.
*Maintain appropriate files and logs related to ongoing experiments. Maintain a detailed lab book that includes detailed reagent information, experimental details, design and results. Organize and maintain a clean adequately supplied work area. Order supplies. Participate in the maintenance of equipment and lab areas.
*BA/BS in biology, chemistry, genetics or related field required with 0-3 years of experience. Prior experience in a research laboratory environment highly preferred
*Prior experience handling of mice for preclinical experiments and flow cytometry experience preferred
*Excellent organizational and communication skills
