This individual will have three primary responsibilities: 1. To maintain the fly stocks of the laboratory and collect flies for experiments. 2. To maintain a mouse colony and provide mice to other lab members for their experiments. 3. To perform histological analysis of tissue samples.
â?¦ Experience in handling flies.
â?¦ Experience in handling mice.
â?¦ Experience in working in the laboratory
â?¦ Knowledge of basic molecular biological techniques (DNA extraction, PCR etc.).
â?¦ Ability to learn dissection skills and sectioning of fresh frozen tissue.
â?¦ Experience in immunostaining techniques.
â?¦ Ability to work with a diverse group of people, with vastly different skills and training.
â?¦ Ability to work independently.
â?¦ Bachelorâ??s degree
