Reporting to the Head Women's Basketball Coach, the Manager of Women's Basketball Operations is responsible for all aspects of running a Division I Women's Basketball program including, but not limited to: day to day operations, travel arrangements, and engaging with the community for purposes related to community service, camp coordination, and fundraising.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
A. Direct day to day operations regarding the womens basketball program.1. Supervise, train and evaluate student managers.
2. Communicate with the members of the athletic department to ensure that the womens basketball staff is up-to-date and aware of the latest information as needed.
3. Responsible for communications with the compliance office. Compile countable hours time sheets and complete all necessary forms for official and unofficial visits and any additional forms as directed for NCAA compliance purposes.
4. Determine practice times and notify appropriate parties.
5. Direct the home and away ticket allocation procedure. Distribute and manage home and away ticket lists. Work with Athletic Department Ticket Office to manage ticket usage and distribution.
6. Represent Head Coach in meetings when required.
7. Coordinate competition schedule with appropriate parties.B. Direct travel arrangements for the Womens Basketball program.
1. Evaluate travel options for the program and determine most efficient and effective travel for the program.
2. Serve as point person for travel arrangements for the Womens Basketball program.
3. Determine the appropriate travel needs to ensure adequate preparation for each trip.
4. Determine away practice times at opponents facility, pre and post competition locker room accommodations when required.
5. Determine all team meals.
6. Travel with the team when necessary to assist with transportation, arrange and prepare all meals as needed.C. Direct community, alumni and external relations for the Womens Basketball program.
1. Serve as a role model and example of sportsmanlike conduct and of the qualities taught by Santa Clara University.
2. Maintain active communication with community constituencies.
3. Assist with or direct all fundraising, alumni and community programs that involve the Womens Basketball program.
4. Assist with or direct as requested all Womens Basketball special events, such as alumni day or end of the year banquet.
5. Create and distribute a newsletter to interested parties.
6. Coach, organize and direct community Womens Basketball clinics and camps.
7. Assist the media relations staff with the scheduling and coordination of various media requests of the Head Coach.
8. Assist the marketing staff with the scheduling and coordination of various marketing requests.D. Fulfill NCAA allowed sport-specific tasks.
1. Attend all trainings and home and away matches as directed by the head coach.
2. Evening and weekend work required.
3. Observe practices and games and track relevant statistics as directed by the head coach.
4. Compile and present statistics to coaching staff as requested.
5. Assist in supervising student managers and their responsibilities.E. Serve as liaison between the Womens Basketball Coach and the other administrative units.
1. Work with the Athletic Department staff to liaison with the University housing office and dining services.
2. Work with other administrative units on campus to effectively manage the operations of the Womens Basketball program.F. Direct equipment and facility operations.
1. Work with Athletics Facilities Department to determine visiting team practice times. Greet visiting team at practice.
2. Coordinate the cleaning and storage of team uniforms and equipment.
3. Ordering necessary training equipment while working within the parameters of the designated budget.
4. Take down and set up hoops, when appropriate.
5. Supervise student managersG. Direct the Womens Basketball game video analysis.
1. Utilize video analysis software and other tools to analyze and edit video to provide the best instruction possible to student-athletes.
2. Using advanced knowledge of both the sport as well as technology, analyze and edit video to provide the best instruction possible to student-athletes.
3. Analyze individual and team dynamics, strength and weaknesses, and areas for improvement.
4. Advise the coaching staff on the best use of game film for instruction and game preparation.
5. Manage and supervise student video workers.
6. Record and upload all practices and games.
7. Track statistics utilizing video as requested.
8. Coordinate and distribute game video to opponents as requested or required in accordance to NCAA and WCC rules and regulations.
9. Maintain functionality of all video equipment.
10. Coordinate any and all video analysis as requested by the womens basketball staff.
11. Complete all necessary training as needed to fulfill duties as video coordinator.H. Fulfill general administrative tasks.
1. Perform general administrative and/or clerical tasks at the direction of the Head Coach including, but not limited to: data entry, filing, copying, faxing and archiving documents.
2. Complete appropriate expense report for members of the coaching staff.
3. Work with members of the Athletic Department to complete any routine forms or gather information as needed.I. Display commitment to the academic success of student-athletes.
1. Work cooperatively and effectively with Academic Support Services staff.
2. Assist, and/or monitor study hall programs.J. Abide by all Conference, Department and NCAA regulations and assist to ensure departmental compliance.
1. Attend all compliance seminars and reviews.
2. Maintain current CPR certifications.K. Other Duties as Assigned.GENERAL GUIDELINES1. Models the office culture guidelines of the Department of Athletics.
2. Is aware of and abides by all NCAA, WCC and other applicable rules and regulations.
3. Sets a positive example of behavior for students and the SCU community.
4. Represents SCU in the community.

Education and/or Experience:
Bachelors degree required.
Minimum of five (5) years of basketball experience at the collegiate or post-collegiate level (playing, coaching or other relevant basketball experience) preferred.
Minimum of three (3) years video editing experience preferred.
