The Trainer, in collaboration with No Boundaries staff, implements an innovative and flexible training program called No Boundaries – Train for Work, Train for Life. Assists with all training aspects of the program, which is designed to train and support individuals with disabilities to build skills for the workplace, access employment and volunteer experiences, use community resources achieve personal goals, form social connections and participate more fully in their communities.
Support the Mission Statement and agency values of Search.
Provides direct training to program participants, including in the areas of essential on-land and on-line communications, social and technology skills for the workplace, public transportation, banking, self-advocacy and other topics.
Assists in the development of new program elements as participants progress through a curriculum that leads to experiential learning through internships and paid work opportunities.
Assists No Boundaries staff with the implementation of the No Boundaries internship program at one of several Search-sponsored social enterprises or at community-based businesses.
Assists in building community-based activities and volunteer experiences designed to help participants live more independently in the community.
Assists with record keeping, and general administration of No Boundaries.
Collaborates with the Digital Marketing & Community Engagement Manager to integrate and maximize the benefits of on-land and on-line learning experiences for participants.
Participates in ongoing outreach activities to generate and sustain enrollment in the No Boundaries Program.
Demonstrates leadership abilities by working cooperatively with Search colleagues, encouraging teamwork, respecting differing viewpoints and demonstrating the ability to solve problems creatively.
Other duties as assigned.
This position is Monday - Friday, part time, 20 - 25 hours/week.
Experience teaching and/or training
Experience with individuals with disabilities preferred
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proficiencies in computer-based and Internet-based software, including Microsoft Office and Google Drive
