The HR/Payroll Modernization program Project Manager will coordinate with program leadership to maintain project plans, ensure timely completion of deliverables and support team communications and collaboration.
More specifically, this role will manage planning, cross-team coordination and collaboration, objective setting, and execution of deliverables. In order to be successful, the incumbent will need to exhibit excellent organizational and project leadership skills. Additionally, the role will require strong analytical acumen, broad awareness of key organizational objectives and an ability to prioritize multiple timelines and competing goals.
Create and maintain detailed work plans in support of program deliverables
Proactively identify potential risks, dependencies, and obstacles which may hinder successful completion of deliverables and achievement of project goals
Monitor and evaluate specific roadmaps, keeping stakeholders informed of scheduled updates and framing associated decision points
Manage work stream scope to the project plan
Manage the sprint process including prioritization, resource capacity management, JIRA tracking and burn down, and the scrum meetings
Liaison between Pods and PEO for program infrastructure needs
Steward of RAID log for particular Pods ensuring accurate statuses, owners, assignees, and priorities
Support Pod Manager with issue escalation to UWD Deputy Directors and PMO as needed
Work with Pod Manager on Pod level strategic planning of work against schedule and resources
Helps resolve blockers by liaising with other Pod PMs during work planning and sprint execution efforts
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Payroll, Business Administration, Information Science, Computer Science or related areas
Four years' experience as a project manager of complex technical projects including demonstrated ability to create, implement, and manage small and large complex projects within a team environment
Ability to utilize disciplined project management methodologies and tools, such as project management systems, issue tracking, risk management, and requirements management systems; ability to develop efficient project procedures and quality control methods
Demonstrable leadership experience, including supervision of diverse resources in a deadline-driven environment and cultivation of trust, strong collaboration and professional development on a high-performing team
Experience communicating effectively with diverse stakeholders, including customers and key process stakeholders
Proven use and understanding of PMI practices and familiarity with ITIL Service Management process.
Ability to manage a diverse range of activities in a very visible and pressured environment, exercising independent judgment in resolving problems
Ability to speak and write about technical issues for both technical and non-technical audiences
Understanding of contemporary computing, networking and security technologies, and distributed systems architecture
Experience communicating with executive management during project charter development, priority setting, status and budget reporting at the Director, VP, and Executive level
Demonstrated excellent written/oral communication skills, technical documentation skills, user liaison skills, and personal interaction abilities
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration. PMI Certification
Experience utilizing SharePoint, JIRA and agile work processes

The position is funded through 09/30/2017, but may go longer.
Work in an open office environment and contribute to collaborative team work focused on problem-solving. Daily interactions with other team members, subject matter experts and stakeholders at all levels of the organization. While the general working hours are within Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., the Project Manager will, on occasion, need to adjust hours to accommodate the business needs and deadlines.
