Market Operations Division (MOD) is currently seeking to appoint a Reconciliation and Control Officer to join our Sydney based team. The successful candidate will be working with a small but growing team, responsible for reconciliation production, review and reporting in addition to assisting in various projects and ad-hoc requests. The role will cover reconciliation and customer service for the banks American and European businesses including the Macquarie Securities Group, Fixed Income Currency and Commodities, Banking and Financial Services, and the US Self Clearing Business, as well as providing support to the Global Nostro Reconciliations team.
The purpose of an independent reconciliation is to ensure that all valid transactions have settled across our accounts correctly and to detect any unauthorised activities. It is imperative the reconciliations be performed on a timely basis to ensure that damage (both financial and reputational) caused by settlement errors is minimized.
Reporting to the Reconciliations Manager you will be responsible for :
Completion of daily nostro account reconciliations for the Treasury and Commodities Group, and the clearance of unreconciled entries.
Investigation queries received from counterparties, correspondent banks and internal counterparties in relation to Treasury Settlements activities.
Amendment and repair of International currency payments.
Process overdraft interest compensation claims arising from late receipt/late payment of funds.
Confirm receipt of funds for FX Corporate clients
Reconciliation of Futures Cash accounts for the Futures Team
A variety of ad hoc statistics and reporting tasks relating to Nostro Reconciliation processes.To be successful in this role you will have some experience working in Nostro Reconciliations, FX Settlements or similar. You will have good organisational skills and the ability to communicate effectively. You will also be able to demonstrate the following:
HSC qualifications, with tertiary studies at SIA / FINSIA or similar.
Capable of dealing with confidential material.
Ability to work in a methodical manner and accept accountability and ownership of tasks.
Demonstrate a high standard of attention to detail
Enjoy working in a team environment
