Under supervision of a physician, the clinical trial coordinator is responsible for enlisting, maintaining, and assuring protocol compliance for all patients on clinical trials. The clinical trial coordinator will collaborate with a provider to review eligibility of a patient for clinical trials. The clinical trial coordinator will provide education to the other nurses in the clinic in regards to clinical trials as well as education to the patients enrolled.
In this position, you will:·
Coordinate care of patients enrolled to oncology clinical trials including patient eligibility, coordination of tests and procedures, and education of patients, families, and medical staff.·
Be responsible for patient advocacy, protocol submissions, and assurance of compliance with federal and international human subjects’ regulations.·
Maintain current nursing knowledge related to assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation and care of adult oncology patients.·
Analyze clinical research protocols for appropriateness to open based on oncology patient population and protocol requirements of standard vs. non-standard of care.·
Provide ongoing assessment of oncology patients enrolled to complex cancer treatment clinical trials; coordinate nursing plan of care according to protocol and patient needs.
