The Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) – a national automotive trade organization – is seeking a 6 to 10-week summer intern to assist in its Washington, DC government affairs/legal offices. Duties include monitoring and analyzing federal and state legislation/regulations affecting the automotive specialty aftermarket (i.e. performance/styling/functional equipment for automobiles) and assisting in grassroots lobbying. The intern will provide support on legislative, regulatory and corporate issues affecting the association and its small business members. Successful candidate should be familiar with Microsoft Word, Access, Excel and Lexis-Nexis (training available). Strong written and oral communication skills required. Car enthusiast an added plus.
