Education:High School Diploma or GED.
Preferred Education:Bachelor's Degree.
Experience:Three years of related experience.
Preferred Experience:Experience working with cancer patients is preferred.
General knowledge of basic interviewing techniques used inthe collection of epidemiological survey data. Skill in recruiting, obtainingconsent, and administering questionnaires. Skill in the use of applicablehardware such as mainframe, mini, personal or laptop computers and applicablesoftware applications; in performing basic medical tests such as taking vitalsigns and drawing blood and ability to perform other related medical tests suchas neuromuscular testing; in performing arithmetic calculations; in performingroutine clerical tasks; in filing documents in alphabetic and numeric sequence;in operating manual and automated office equipment; in managing workload andusing time effectively; in working in a non-office setting. Ability tocommunicate effectively with widely diverse groups of people both in person andover the phone; to communicate effectively in writing and to compile andsummarize information into concise and accurate reports; to locate and retrievefiles and records from confined spaces and locations which are not easilyaccessible. Skill in Microsoft Office. Skill in processing samples (separatingplasma and buffy coat, aliquoting plasma into vials for storage).
Other:Except for qualifications established by law, additional related experience andformal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilitiesrequired for full performance of the work of the job class may be substitutedfor the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30college credits being equivalent to one year of experience.
Conditions of Employment: Somepositions may require employees to possess a valid Maryland Noncommercial ClassC or equivalent driver's license and to use their personal vehicle fortransportation. Some positions may require overnight travel.

SalaryRange: $30,177- $39,191
