The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, located between the mighty Mississippi River and beautiful bluff country, is seeking an outstanding physician to join the Student Health Center team of providers. The physician will primarily provide direct care for our student population and will also work closely with the Administrative Director to provide leadership and medical oversight to the Student Health Center. This position is under the general supervision of the Student Health Center’s Administrative Director.
The physician supports the Student Health Center mission by providing a full range of primary care medical services for students aimed at promoting student well-being and success. These services include direct care for patients with acute and chronic medical problems, preventive health care, patient education on medical problems, health promotion activities, education regarding lifestyle choices, and assistance in accessing and coordinating care with specialty medical providers in the community and in the student’s home community.

This is an 87.5% annual appointment (100% appointment during the academic year and 50% appointment during the summer.)
- Licensed or eligible for license in Wisconsin as a physician.
- Board Certified in their specialty area.
- Current and valid DEA registration.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in Primary care.
- Experience and competence in electronic health record.
- Considerable experience in Urgent Care setting including minor surgical procedures under local anesthetic.
- Provider experience in university/college health center.
- Comfort and experience in working with diverse and traditionally underserved populations.
- Experience with supervision of health care personnel.
- Experience in leadership of a clinical team.
- Experience in Orthopedics.
- Experience with men’s health, sexual & reproductive health.
- Experience in mental health.
