| Advertised Summary Job Description: The Coordinator of Intramurals, Club Sports, and Camps is responsible for managing the intramural program and providing administrative assistance for the Director of Intramurals and Club Sports and Director of Sports and Little Lions Camps. |
-Recruit, hire, train, schedule, supervise, and evaluate approximately 30 student intramural employees and 12 sports camp employees per year.
-Manage training programs and weekly meetings for student staff and intramural officials.
-Assist with review and implementation of risk management policies and procedures on scheduled basis.
-Provide on-site supervision of student staff
-Maintain high visibility and accessibility to ensure smooth operation of programs.
-Conduct day-to-day operations of all intramural and camp activities
-Maintain excellent participant relations. Communicate with intramural team captains and camp parents to facilitate excellent customer service.
-Develop and implement customer satisfaction surveys and recommendations for continued improvement. Respond to suggestions, complaints, needs and interests in a timely manner.
-Collaborate with Columbia University Athletics to schedule intramural sports and camp activities.
-Assist with management of fee collection for intramurals, club sports, and camp programs.
-Assist in day-to-day operations of camp/clinic programming.
-Assist in developing camp/clinic calendars, weekly themes and camp programming.
-Participate in budget development and management, including the monitoring of program revenues, expenses and purchasing.
-Participate in developing marketing plans and corresponding time lines for intramurals and camps.
-Update and review Intramural and Camp pages on the Physical Education and Recreation Website.
-Develop and create social media updates and posts for appropriate constituencies.
-Management of equipment inventory for intramurals and camps.
-Teach one required physical education course per semester.
-Other duties as assigned. Some night and weekend hours required.
General Minimum Qualifications: -Bachelor's degree in recreation management, kinesiology, sports management, or closely related field required.
-One-two (1-2) years professional experience (Graduate Assistantship experience accepted)
-Experience must include at least one (1) year of staff supervision in campus recreation or related field.
Additional Specific Minimum Qualifications: -Demonstrated knowledge and ability in officiating various sports, including basketball, soccer and flag football.
-Excellent verbal and written communication, organization, management, leadership, and professional skills.
-Proven commitment to student and staff development and customer service.
-A demonstrated ability to take initiative, problem solve and meet deadlines.
-Ability to collaborate effectively as a member of a goal-oriented team.
-A working computer knowledge using Microsoft Office and Adobe products in a Windows/network environment.
-Experience in marketing, including community outreach and social media
-Knowledge and experience with safety and risk management, as it pertains to both intramural sports and camp settings.
Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in kinesiology, recreation management, sports administration or closely related field.
One (1) year of experience in a camp or youth program setting.
Officiating experience in organized or recreational sports setting
