Hall Health Center currently has an outstanding opportunity for a 80%-100% FTE Family Physician or Internist at a UW Physician 2 level. This individual will provide acute and chronic care for men and women in age groups late adolescence thru the elderly. Competence in basic primary care outpatient procedures is required.
Hall Health Center on the UW Seattle Campus is a AAHC-accredited outpatient facility providing high quality health care to a wide range of individuals. Hall Health Center has about 70,000 visits annually. Two thirds of these visits are by undergraduate and graduate students. One third of visits are by faculty, staff, retirees, and others in the greater Seattle community ranging from childhood thru older age. The primary mission of Hall Health is to help assure student success by providing excellent access to high quality comprehensive care to students.
The Physician II provides direct patient care, principally to young adults in an ambulatory setting, and contributes to medical quality assurance and to the management needs of Hall Health Center. Demonstrates behaviors that support the UW Medicine Patients Are First Service Culture Guidelines.
This position is one that performs an essential function; therefore, Incumbent should make every effort to report to work in the event that the University suspends operations because of severe weather, natural disaster, or other emergency condition.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide direct patient care including the diagnosis and treatment of medical or mental health problems commonly seen in an ambulatory setting.
Perform minor office procedures including suturing.
Order and interpret appropriate laboratory, X-ray, and other diagnostic tests.
Provide health counseling and health maintenance examinations to well persons.
Provide information and advice about diseases, injury, and treatment, as well as health maintenance.
Contribute to medical quality-assurance functionally in the clinic setting and by committee participation.
Consult with other health-care providers within Hall Health Center, UW Medicine, and the community.
Prepare and present reports to medical or administrative staff.
Keep problem-oriented medical records.
Contribute to medical-staff conferences and CME.
Maintain correspondence, insurance reports, and other paperwork.
May assist in supervising and instructing nurses, technicians, and other health-care personnel.
May perform outreach activities and public relations work upon request.

Hall Health Center is an essential service of the University of Washington and will remain open during UW closures for emergencies, inclement weather, etc. All HHC staff members are considered essential employees and are expected to report to work as usual in such events.

Current State of Washington medical license.
Completion of residency program in internal medicine, family practice, or other relevant field.
Board Eligibility or certification in relevant specialty.
Demonstrated clinical performance of excellent scientific quality with consistent and high level of clinical productivity.
Demonstrated ability to communicate with patients and staff.
Meeting current CME requirements.
