Bachelor’s degree in a related field plus 5 years of IT experience at an enterprise level or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Four or more years’ experience with security monitoring tools, incident response management, and/or forensics. Experience with PeopleSoft applications, a working knowledge of varied operating systems (including Windows and Linux), network protocols, monitoring tools. Knowledgeable about information security risk management practices. Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), and/or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and/or other security related certifications.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, UNIX systems, firewalls, TCP/IP, VPN, DNS, access management, encryption, configuration management, vulnerability scanning, and application security best practices. Familiar with disaster recovery planning and business continuity processes. Strong documentation, communication (verbal and written) and project management skills.
Excellent organization, communications, analytical, and troubleshooting skills. Ability to work with minimal supervision.

The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
