Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking Pharmacy Technician/Inventory Control positions for the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey. Among the key duties of this are the following:
The primary purpose of the Pharmacy Technician/Inventory Control position is to assist the Pharmacist in all aspects of pharmacy practice that do not require professional judgment or intervention (e.g. sterile/non-sterile product preparation, patient profile maintenance, department recordkeeping, billing, maintaining inventory).
Assists in the handling of investigational drugs and associated record keeping.
Serves a vital role in patient safety through the performance of dose calculation double checks.
Will be required to perform both aseptic and hazardous drug compounding techniques that requires the use of a USP 797 clean room and personal protective equipment to reduce exposure and contamination while maintaining sterility of the final product.
Home Location Campus: Downtown New Brunswick
A minimum of one (1) year as a Pharmacy Technician with oncology related experience preferred.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Completion of chemotherapy certification course and USP 797 certification within six (6) months of employment.
Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills.
Must be computer literate with proficiency and working knowledge of database and reporting tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and generalized knowledge of electronic medical records (EMR).
