| The Department of Biostatistics is a very busy and diverse department focused on research and teaching. Our 60+ faculty are leaders in the development of statistical methods for clinical trials and observational studies, studies on the environment, computational biology, and genomics/genetics. We offer degree programs in biostatistics, computational biology and data science; currently, more than 150 students are enrolled in these programs. |
Reporting to the Senior Manager for Administration and Operations, the Executive Assistant supports the Department Chair and performs a wide range of administrative duties for a very busy and diverse department focused on research and teaching.
-Works independently with minimal supervision performing a wide range of complex and confidential administrative and clerical support duties using multiple software applications including MS Office (Word. Excel and Powerpoint), Outlook calendar and email, and internet to coordinate the activities of the Chair and department.
-The successful candidate will be highly organized and comfortable gathering and analyzing information required for administrative reporting; prepares mailings and supporting materials for meetings and events.
-Manages complex calendar for the Chair, arranges meetings among department faculty and external leadership; Coordinates meeting dates, locations, etc. with internal and external participants. Arranges international and domestic travel and accommodations for the Chair and other faculty as needed.
-Independently drafts emails, letters, and other correspondence for the Chair and senior department leadership.
-Compiles and prepares monthly credit card statement and out-of-pocket expenses for reimbursement, including international travel.
-Reviews, assesses, routes, answers and monitors follow-up action steps on correspondence.
-Coordinates events and special projects as needed.
-Coordinates faculty searches when needed.
-Purchases office supplies, computers and software for department members.
-The successful candidate will be a flexible team player who can assist with other duties as required.
