This position is with Newport News Shipbuilding, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries, located in Newport News, VA.
This position will: •Serve as a primary focal point for managing internal and external audit requests, IT control testing and evaluation processes •Be responsible for working with internal and external auditors to review controls and their effectiveness •Monitor and report on NNS’s compliance with SOX and IT General Controls •Work with IT and the Business to continually improve NNS’s risk posture and ensure an effective and reliable control foundation and supporting processes •Partner with IT, IT service providers and the Business to drive compliance awareness •Help plan and execute IT SOX compliance efforts to ensure that operations are conducted according to the highest professional and regulatory standards •Assist control owners in the identification, development, documentation, and execution of their IT General Controls Develop working relationships with multiple levels of management and work together with Finance, IT and Audit professionals to successfully achieve the objectives of our company’s SOX program •Evaluate current IT processes and controls to identify risks impacting financial reporting and ensure that the assets of the company are properly controlled and safeguarded •Perform and oversee management's assessments and testing, to ensure the adequacy of controls •Increase the awareness of internal controls throughout the company
Bachelors degree in a relevant discipline or the equivalent in education, training and experience, plus a minimum of 8 years of applicable, progressive professional and/or supervisory work experience.
Should have 5 years of experience with IT Security, compliance or IT audit responsibilities •Strong communication skills, as well as demonstrated ability to work proactively within a dynamic environment •Familiarity with IT quality and process improvement methodologies •Knowledge of government and internal audit requirements •Knowledge of contracts, cost/schedule management, accounting and finance •Ability to comprehend financial data and present it in cogent manner •Skills to lead and drive teams in process improvements and product delivery •Experience MS-Office and MS-Access •Solid understanding of Sarbanes-Oxley, Financial Controls, SAP ECC6, SAP GRC and Application Security •Solid understanding of techniques to monitor, manage and mitigate IT and business issues relating to segregation of duties (SOD) •One or more certifications related to security governance, compliance, audit e.g. CISA, CISSP, CGEIT, CRISC •Big four audit firm experience preferred •Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills •Strong analytical and problem solving skills •A healthy comfort level with challenging the status quo •Ability to collaborate and use influencing skills throughout the organization to carry out job responsibilities •Exceptional attention to detail •Ability to concurrently conduct multiple tasks
