The Accommodation Coordinator is member of the team of professionals responsible for implementing reasonable accommodations for students registered with Student Disability Services (SDS), including students with physical, medical, learning, neurological and psychiatric disabilities, as well as students on the Autism Spectrum. The Accommodation Coordinator provides direct service to students to include reviewing documentation, determining eligibility for services and reasonable accommodation strategies, communication of accommodations and outreach to faculty and university resources, promoting student self-advocacy and working with the SDS team to promote an environment of access and equal opportunity on campus. The Accommodation Coordinator also works closely with the staff in the Rinella Learning Center to assist students in procuring other support structures such as tutoring, academic coaching, supplemental instruction and other collaborative initiatives
