ICOY is seeking a Training Manager for the Youth Services Training and Technical Assistance program for organizations providing services to youth through the Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS) specifically the Comprehensive Community-Based Youth Services (CCBYS) and Teen Reach. The Training Manager is responsible for the development, coordination, and implementation of mandatory and quality enhancement trainings, provider network meetings, and technical assistance for IDHS youth service providers throughout the state of Illinois. The ability to travel and work some evenings required.
Job Responsibilities include:
Oversee and coordinate the development and analysis of training needs assessments/surveys, minimally as required by funding entities or as needed determined by best practice.
Facilitate and conduct training workshops on youth service and juvenile justice related topics such as the state’s Comprehensive Community-Based Youth Service and Teen Reach programs, Casey Life Skills, E-Cornerstone, Overview of Motivational Interviewing and other training topics identified by needs assessments/surveys.
Plan and schedule training workshops. Identify external trainers as needed, oversee training agreements and logistics.
Attend related partner committee meetings and represent ICOY as requested at youth-related meetings, workshops, and conferences.
Manage subcontracts for the state’s CCBYS Information and Referral Line and assist with the subcontract for legal consultation services for CCBYS agencies.
Oversee and coordinate initial draft of quarterly reports for funders, request information from ICOY staff and vendors as necessary, set deadlines to ensure reports are submitted by funder due date.
Supervise graduate interns as needed; maintain good relations with graduate internship programs to ensure interns are available.
Provide leadership in the development of webinar/online training curriculum using “experts in the field,” post on the ICOY website, and provide notice to youth service agency staff regarding process for accessing and using ICOY web-based training resources.
For the quarterly ICOY training newsletter, provide key training topics and related information that increases the youth service staff knowledge and awareness of programs and issues about youth and families.
Oversee accurate and complete training information on the ICOY website.
Think about and act upon ideas (yours, ours and others) to increase training offerings and income opportunities for ICOY.
Represent the mission of ICOY at all related events, meetings, workshops, and conferences.
Assist DHS, CCBYS and Teen Reach with Training and Technical Assistance.
The preferred candidate will possess the following:
Master’s degree preferred; Bachelor’s degree required in social work, psychology, human services, public administration, juvenile justice, or education.
2-5 years of post-college experience in a nonprofit work environment, preferably in youth services or juvenile justice.
Valid driver’s license, reliable automobile, clean driving record, and auto insurance as required by ICOY.
Proficient with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.
Attention to detail, work well independently and in a team, and have a professional customer service attitude.
