The Healthcare Analyst will be responsible for analysis of complex issues in health policy, and will examine issues in population health and health care focused largely on access to care, cost, quality, and effectiveness of care. Policy work will include a focus on the intersection of health care and human services, as well as analysis of health system reforms. A strong candidate will demonstrate knowledge of health care financing and delivery, population health and policy processes, and will have experience with survey or claims data analysis. Experience with program evaluation and survey design is also a plus. This individual will be high functioning working independently as well as in teams, and will work on multiple concurrent projects.
- Master’s degree in public policy, public health or a related field.
- Minimum of 2-4 years of health policy experience.
- Strong quantitative skills and knowledge of descriptive statistics, statistical tests and statistical inference; Proficiency working with analytical software (e.g., SQL, STATA, SAS and/or SPSS).
- Experience managing programs and processes, monitoring budgets, delegating tasks and managing communication with internal and external partners. Demonstrated ability to lead projects through to completion within defined guidelines.
- Highly motivated with a strong work ethic.
- Willingness to work in a highly interactive and collegial group of analysts. Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, including demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize multiple activities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with management and analysis of claims and survey data.
- Experience writing grant proposals and identifying grant funded opportunities.
- Experience conducting program evaluation, including developing evaluation plans, logic models, and measures; understanding of formative, summative and participatory methods.
- Understanding of survey methodology and analysis.
