The Information Technology Division (IT) provides comprehensive, campus-wide IT leadership, implementation, maintenance, and support. This structure affords EWU with a comprehensive IT strategy for implementation and support that provides a cost-effective, efficient IT infrastructure aligning with the institution's mission, vision, and goals.
The Senior Network Engineer will function at the expert level and will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the networking processes at Eastern Washington University by implementing, managing, and maintaining core network and system environment. This position will provide senior level support to designated end-users and provide senior network administration and mentorship to the Information Technology Support Services Team. Additionally, this position will independently consult, analyze, design, develop, program, troubleshoot and resolve problems for major tasks, projects for university-wide initiatives, both high-risk/high-impact and/or for mission critical systems and applications. This position is also responsible for proper planning, management, and operation of the university's network, to include developing, supporting and ensuring the reliability, stability, and integrity of the network and infrastructure serving the enterprise and administrative information systems. Additional areas of responsibility include the senior oversight of network engineering, and administration of all network administrator activities and direction. Lastly, the Senior Network Engineer will plan and coordinate the deployment of university network infrastructure, networking systems, and other networking electronics that may be university-wide tactical deployments.
