The College of Continuing Studies is seeking a talented and creative multimedia designer/course developer to work as a member of our Online Program Development team. The multimedia designer/course developer will work with faculty to design and build learning objects and course content for online courses in the College's Online Program Development Center. The multimedia designer/course develop will also assist faculty in deploying and maintaining those learning objects in our learning management system.
This position may require occasional evenings and weekends.
This is an exempt, APA unit position and is subject to the terms of that union agreement.
Essential Duties:Develop multimedia learning objects based on faculty specifications in a variety of formats including but not limited to print, graphics, audio, video, animation, interactive multimedia platforms, etc
Assist faculty with deploying and maintaining learning objects. Serve as online learning support staff assisting faculty and students with their online teaching and learning related technical issues.
Assist faculty in researching and selecting third-party learning objects and open educational resources.
Provide instructional design consultation, guidance, and support to faculty in the design and development of online and hybrid courses.
Develop multimedia and graphics objects for the College of Continuing Studies.
Assist with the maintenance of the College of Continuing Studies web pages.
Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in multimedia design or related field.
A minimum of two years of production experience with multimedia design, digital animation, graphic design, or web development.
Technical proficiency in computer hardware and software associated with multimedia design, graphic design, motion graphics, and web development, including but not limited to the Adobe Creative Suite, Flash, and HTML 5.
Creativity and a strong design sense.
The ability to translate concepts into deliverable products.
Strong faculty/client support skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
Preferred Qualifications:Master's Degree in a related field
Work experience in instructional design, instructional technology, educational technology or related field.
Work experience in higher education, educational media, or educational video production.
Experience working with the Blackboard learning management system.

Salary Range: $55,000 - $60,000
