DePauw University, a top-tier liberal arts college, seeks to hire a postdoctoral scholar in the History Department with courses coordinated and cross-listed with Latin American and Caribbean Studies for the 2017-18 academic year. Ph.D. defense successfully completed by the time position starts in August 2017, but not prior to 2014. Sub-specialty and period open and may include Brazil as well as Spanish-speaking regions. The postdoctoral scholar will teach Colonial and Modern Latin American history surveys and Latin American history topics classes at the 200 and 300 level of the candidate’s own design based on scholarly expertise and teaching interests. Ability to promote a dynamic classroom environment based on inclusive pedagogies essential. The position will come with a four course teaching load, employment benefits, faculty development, presentation opportunities, and mentoring. There is a possibility of a one-year renewal based on performance, availability of funding, and continuing need.
