The Administrative Assistant reports directly to and supports the Administrative Manager in efforts related to developing a training institute within Cornell University Cooperative Extension's NYC Programs (CUCE) and managing fee-for-service (FSS) activities, including developing letters of commitment and training agreements, securing approvals, billing, tracing payments to ensure that they are placed in the appropriate accounts, and maintaining a reference file for all FFS activities and partnerships.
In addition to activities specific to FFS efforts, the Administrative Assistant assists CUCE's Program Leaders in reviewing and monitoring charges to their accounts and serves as a liaison to the Bronfenbrenner Center for Translational Research (BCTR) Accounts Representative and the CHE/CALS Business Services Center based in Ithaca. Other business-related activities would include assisting CUCE staff regarding travel advances and reimbursements, research incentives, petty cash, and procurement This position assists CUCE's Administrative Manager in inventories of space and capital assets, and provides back-up support for CUCE's Administrative Assistant on non-HR matters.
This is a term position through 9/30/2017 with the possibility of extension.
Formal training beyond a HS Diploma of 6 months to 1 year; more than 2 years and less than 4 years experience. Must have competency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines. Strong problem solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
