Oregon State University-Cascades, and the College of Education at Oregon State University invites applications for a full time, 1.0 FTE, 12-month Instructor position in Education. The person in this position is assigned to work at Oregon State University-Cascades, located in Bend, Oregon. Reappointment is at the discretion of the Dean.
This position exists within the year long Master of Arts in Teacher program and the primary function is to teach and advise Teacher Candidates focused on the secondary level and to provide cohort leadership.

OSU-Cascades, located in Bend, Ore., is a branch campus of Oregon State University. Established in 2001, the university currently enrolls more than 1,100 students in bachelor's and master's degree programs. The campus expanded to a four-year university in 2015, and opened its new campus in 2016. The branch campus has ambitious enrollment goals to reach 3,000 to 5,000 students by 2025. OSU-Cascades is engaged in building a culturally diverse and community-centric educational environment.
The anticipated start date is June 15, 2017.
Minimum Qualifications (Staff) / Guidelines (Faculty):
Typically requires Master’s degree in discipline appropriate to the field of teaching/instructional tasks.
-Earned and completed Master’s degree in Education or a related field.
-Experience and leadership in working with teachers such as providing professional development, mentoring, or coaching.
-Five years successful teaching at the secondary level.
-Holds or is eligible for an Oregon Teaching License.
-Demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity and inclusion.
-Evidence of effective communication and interpersonal skills.
-This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a Criminal History Check and be determined to be position qualified as per OSU Standard 576-055-0000 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in Youth Programs may have additional Criminal History Checks every 24 months. Offers of employment are contingent upon meeting all minimum qualifications including the Criminal History Check Requirement.
This 12 month position has varied hours, depending on the timing of the courses taught and other duties such as Admissions and Portfolio evaluation. Some evening and weekend (Saturday) work.
