Anderson University (South Carolina) and the College of Business invite applications for two full-time, nine-month faculty positions. Both positions will start in August, 2017. Faculty rank and status will be determined at the time of appointment based upon the terminal degree, experience, and record of scholarship.
Anderson University is an innovative, entrepreneurial, premier comprehensive, liberal arts institution affiliated with the South Carolina Baptist Convention. Candidates with a strong Christian value system, lifestyle, and commitment to the integration of faith and learning are encouraged to apply.
Anderson University recognizes three paths for faculty employment: annual appointment, professional path, and tenure track. Faculty hired for annual appointment are evaluated on mission fit, and teaching and learning. They begin employment at the rank of instructor with the opportunity to promote to senior lecturer. Faculty in the Professional Path focus on teaching and learning and are evaluated on mission fit, teaching and learning, and service; and they are able to promote through professorial ranks. After six years of exemplary service, faculty on the Professional Path become eligible for multi-year contracts. Faculty on tenure track focus initially on teaching and learning, but they are evaluated on mission fit, teaching and learning, service, and scholarship. Tenure-track faculty promote through professorial ranks and are eligible for tenure status in year six.
These newly created positions are the result of the consistent and rapid growth of the College’s undergraduate programs and the MBA program. Preference will be given to candidates who have the credentials to teach in more than one field or to teach in the College’s new MBA emphases in Supply Chain Management and Marketing. The teaching load is 24 credit hours per academic year, including academic advising. MBA courses will be taught at the University Center in Greenville, SC and online. Undergraduate courses will be taught on the Anderson, SC campus and online. Candidates should hold an earned doctorate in one of the functional areas taught in the College of Business.
