Assures compliance with pertinent regulations (e.g., accessibility, accreditation, copyright, and state authorization) as well as research-based best practices in online higher education. Leading Clemson Online's strategic planning and continuous improvement, this position is also responsible for online course evaluations, outcomes assessment, program review, and satisfaction surveys.
Quality Enhancement: 25% - Essential
Develops, implements, and supervises research related to student demographics, unit accountability, unit performance, and enrollment degree projections utilizing data from various internal and external sources; coordinates with Institutional Research (IR) and other necessary offices at Clemson University to collect data and gather information needed for accountability and quality improvement; provides leadership in the implementation of assessment of student learning outcomes and program assessment; collaborates with IR to accomplish objectives; ensures that data results are utilized to promote effectiveness.
Data Management and Reporting: 25% - Essential
Maintains a database of requirements of all jurisdictions relevant to the conduct of educational activities, the current status of each Clemson University online program with each jurisdiction, including deadlines for next actions, and current operations outside South Carolina related to student and faculty recruitment, admission, residence, and research; creates and maintains up-to-date information per the State Higher Education Executive Officers Association; documents and communicates an annual schedule of reports.
Compliance Management: 20% - Essential
Collaborates with administrative and academic units to obtain relevant information for online education reporting and compliance purposes; ensures compliance in online courses and programs with copyright laws and accessibility; ensures compliance and accessibility for all materials and web pages developed by Clemson Online; confirms Clemson Online is meeting all accreditation standards; and verifies if all federal compliance policies and procedures for online learning are present and up-to-date.
State Authorization: 20% - Essential
Develop and maintain relationships with diverse state regulators, Education Boards, and other jurisdictions
governing online education in order to obtain and maintain necessary authorization to conduct educational
activities; coordinates with the Registrar, and University constituencies to implement necessary restrictions
on out-of-state student admissions for online programs and courses and to communicate restrictions and
limitations that state authorization places on out-of-state advertisement and recruitment.
Supervision: 10% - Essential
Provides leadership for development and implementation of new online programs and courses and the revision of existing ones; monitors online curriculum changes and assists in communication of changes to relevant agencies; provides leadership and collaborates with administration and academic units in the development and implementation policies and procedures; and provides leadership in the maintenance
and accessibility of academic support services for online students.
Master's Degree; 3+ years progressive experience in institutional research or related field (e.g., data analytics, organizational effectiveness, assessment and measurement, planning and policy studies, etc.).
Comprehensive Job Knowledge - Comprehensive knowledge of theories and practices and ability to use in complex, difficult and/or unprecedented situations
Manages Work of Others - Manages work of others including hiring, terminating, training and developing, reviewing performance and administering corrective action for staff. Plans organizational structure and job content.
Provides Budget Input - Provides input into the budgeting process, and oversees fund allocation.

Standard Hrs: 37.5; Band: 08; salary range for this position is $59,662 - $70,000
Employees who are in time limited positions will earn one and one-quarter days of Annual and Sick Leave per month for a total of thirty (30) days per year. Eligible part-timers will earn days on a pro rata basis.
