Phillips Academy and the Addison Gallery of American Art seek to fill a visiting scholar position in art history. The scholar will work with the Addison’s curatorial staff on exhibitions, object research, and acquisitions, in addition to teaching one course per term. The visiting scholar will work with members of the art department and the Addison staff on a course in which students curate a small exhibition from the Addison’s extensive collections. Other courses will be determined by the visiting scholar in consultation with Addison staff and will incorporate classroom time and direct engagement with objects in the collection. The Academy invites applicants with a BA or MA with a strong background in photography, American and/or contemporary art.
