University of MarylandHematology/Oncology: The Departmentof Medicine and the Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center(UMGCCC) of the University of Maryland School of Medicine, located inBaltimore, MD is seeking a full time experienced physician leader to join ourfaculty practice as the Director of Thoracic Medical Oncology. Pleasenote we are currently recruiting for a thoracic oncology faculty position inaddition to this role.
Our program emphasizes themultimodality care of thoracic oncology patients and clinical and translationalresearch. In addition to medical oncology, our thoracic oncology team consistsof four thoracic surgeons and two radiation oncologists.
The essential functions of the positioninclude inpatient/outpatient consultations and longitudinal patient care,teaching and mentoring of Hematology/Oncology fellows, residents and medicalstudents. Active participation in clinical research isexpected. Furthermore, candidates with a strong interest and orpublished literature relating to conducting clinical/translational research arepreferred. Therapeutic clinical trials as well as many correlativestudies are supported by the UMGCCC Clinical Trials Office. Interaction withbasic and translational scientists is strongly encouraged.
