Reporting to the Senior Associate Director of Content Strategy, with a dotted line to the Assistant Director of Community Program Marketing, the Digital Communications Coordinator is responsible for maintaining online web and social media content for Harvard's Public Affairs web properties, including content for community.harvard.edu, edportal.harvard.edu and associated sites. The Digital Communications Coordinator serves as a member of HPAC's content strategy team primarily supporting the Public Affairs communications team. The Public Affairs office is an office of external relations covering state, federal and local relations.
Specific responsibilities include:
Maintain content for Harvard University's Public Affairs web properties and associated social media accounts
Establish, implement, and maintain processes, guidelines and schedules to ensure content remains up-to-date and is continually refreshed on Harvard University Public Affairs web properties
Ensure consistency and excellence in web content quality by documenting and enforcing best practices
Ensure optimal use of Drupal Content Management System
Maintain and review content/events aggregated by web properties and social media accounts
Monitor and report on website and social media analytics and tracking to ensure continuous improvement with an eye to expand online audiences.
Review incoming email for website feedback and monitor outgoing email newsletter analytics
Support the development of an editorial calendar and overall content strategy for the web and social media accounts
Work with content teams and individual staff to design tailored digital communications solutions for Community Affairs outreach efforts (web).
Design web pages and assist in content production as required to achieve communications objectives
Assist in quickly posting and creating online content and ability to adapt easily to change
Act as website editor with responsibility for reviewing and publishing website content.
Research, as needed, products and services in the market to enhance our website functionality in line with our goals.
Develop and manage contractor deliverables when additional web or database support is required by Community Affairs.
Coordinate with the Senior Associate Director of Content Strategy and Assistant Director of Community Program Marketing to implement best practices and templates for digital publishing and measurement.

2 + years of relevant experience preferred
Experience with web content management systems, social media management tools, and analytics tools including Google Analytics
Position requires demonstrated knowledge of web technologies and experience maintaining web content management system
Knowledge of social media channels, email marketing and other digital tools
Must be highly organized and detail oriented; strong project and time management skills
Must be able to work independently and in collaboration with multiple internal stakeholders
Must have exceptional interpersonal and project management skills, writing and editing skills, and a proven record of working collaboratively with a wide range of constituents.
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects, work independently and in collaboration with team members
