Posting Summary: The Grants and Research Writer will assist key initiatives of the Office of Diversity and Engagement. This position will have three primary responsibilities.
First, this position supports a longitudinal academic disparities research project, including identifying and drafting external funding opportunities, researching related topics in preparation for written briefs, ensuring ODE is in compliance for all grants reporting and benchmarking, and overall documentation of the research project.
Second, the Grants and Research Writer works with ODE in supporting and exploring collaborations with UVA engineering faculty with regard to funding opportunities that incorporate diversity. This includes grant writing, grant compliance and reporting, and managing deadlines in the pre-/post-award process.
Third, the Writer assists with supporting a project related to engineering faculty pipeline. This includes research and briefs on faculty engagement and development, faculty recruitment best practices, and other related duties.
The Grants and Research Writer also assists with special projects as assigned.
This position reports to the Assistant Director while working closely with the Associate Dean of Diversity and Inclusion and the Senior Data Analyst.
The Program Coordinator must have a Master's Degree, strong written and oral communication, a background in academic research and grants writing, ability to collaborate, excellent time/task management and organization skills, etc.
This is a part-time hourly position with a that has a term of one year. Position may be renewable based on availability of funds and performance. The pay rate for this position will be $25/hour.
