Utica College, a small comprehensive college in Upstate New York, is seeking an IT Applications Administrator who is a team-oriented individual to join the Information and Application Services team as an IT Applications Administrator. The primary responsibility will be to install, implement, administer and maintain a portfolio of IT software applications, which support the various needs and functions of College departments. Maintenance would include monitoring, troubleshooting and fixing the issues that arise, contacting and escalating to software vendors as deemed appropriate. It will also include performing enhancements and upgrades as and when needed.

Primary responsibilities include:
Serve as a technical expert in a team supporting College-hosted and potentially cloud-based IT applications such as Google Applications, CashNet, Campus Labs, Titanium, Conduct Coordinator, Events Management Systems and others; Follow best practices toward the installation, implementation, and maintenance of IT software; Troubleshoot system related problems; coordinate with relevant System Administrators regarding user support and problem resolution; Coordinate with Database Administrators and Programming staff regarding data integration and data access; Monitor applications and take corrective action to prevent or minimize system down time; Perform enhancements and upgrades to the applications as when needed to meet the business needs; Adhere to change control and release/configuration management standards, policies and procedures; Develop workflows, user documentation and train personnel on new applications software; Become escalation point for user support inquiries and problems; Manage the security access setup and matrix of the supported applications, and coordinate with the appropriate people for incidents and audits; Analyze, develop and maintain documentation including FAQs, Knowledge Base articles, troubleshooting guides and Standard Operating Procedure (SOP); Perform other relevant duties as assigned.
Qualifications: (FROM JOB DESCRIPTION)
A Bachelor’s degree with a technical focus, preferably Computer Science or Information Systems; or significant college level coursework, including an associate degree, in a related field; Experience working with Cloud Services and Application; Experience working with Windows environment; Experience working with SQL and relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, or MySQL; 2 to 3 years of experience in a related job field supporting departmental and enterprise applications; Understanding of data integration; Strong organizational skills and detail oriented; Customer and team oriented; Ability to work off-hours to resolve application issues or problems; Experience using troubleshooting techniques to resolve application related problems; Need to ensure availability, dependability, and reliability of assigned applications; Observe confidentiality of work related information and material; Strong multi-tasking and prioritization skills; Strong analytical and problem solving skills; Understanding of web services; General Unix or Linux experience, including shell scripts.
