UW Dining is seeking an Assistant Manager for South Campus Dining. In this position you will work within our retail dining team that supports our operations in several locations, with primarily responsibility for Rotunda, a caf serving a variety of breakfast and lunch entres that rotate daily as well as coffee and espresso drinks, grab-and-go sandwiches and salads, made-to-order salads and more. As the Assistant Manager, you'll be responsible for food quality and presentation, customer service, training and financial goals for these operations. At South Campus Dining you will work with the Dining Manager, Chef de Cuisine, and a team of dedicated full-time cooks and student staff to provide the best service possible for customers. What You'll Be Doing:
Supporting the operation by scheduling, training and supervising both classified and student staff.
Ensuring the financial health of the operation by monitoring inventory, financial data and staffing levels and adjusting when necessary.
Demonstrating leadership in day-to-day staff coaching, training and performance.
Demonstrating effective communication with both staff and customers and maintaining visibility with them during peak mealtimes.
Ensuring that direct reports are meeting performance standards and providing guidance on performance overall.
What You'll Need to Succeed:

Bachelor's degree in hospitality, business administration or related field.
Minimum of two years of management experience in the food service industry.
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
References that can verify success:
Success supervising staff working in both kitchen and front-of-house customer service environments.
Success motivating staff through training, coaching and modeling of behaviors and skills.
Success working in a complicated organization, including the ability to adapt quickly to changes in plans.
Success working in environments where there is continuous interaction with guests and staff throughout the work shift.
Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
