Director, VHS Financial Planning and Analysis
Reporting directly to the Vice President, Affiliate Operations Finance, the Director, VHS Financial Planning & Analysis is responsible for advancing the overall financial performance of the 14 subsidiary companies housed within Vanderbilt Health Services, LLC as well as any new subsidiaries. The Director will support the development and management of the complex VHS 5 year financial plan, annual budgets, strategic planning & analysis, as well as working with operational leadership to ensure actual performance meets or exceeds plans and supports strategic achievement aligned with Vanderbilt University Medical Center Pillar Goals. In addition, the Director will provide oversight for Accounts Receivable management for VHS managed subsidiaries in coordination with operational leaders. Key to this position is driving the teamâs focus to high quality business analytics and excellent customer service. The Director collaborates with various teams across the VUMC system with a specific focus on enabling sound data driven business decisions to most effectively support our patients, clinicians, and administration. Responsible for a team of 3-4 direct reports consisting of Financial Analysts and Accountants with skill sets in financial forecasting and modeling, statistics, business analytics, benchmarking, business planning, and accounts receivable management.
8 Years applicable experience in financial planning & analysis in a complex healthcare system
5 Yearsâ experience managing people
Advanced Excel, Power Point , Access data bases, etc.
Solid understanding of healthcare finance including revenue cycle, accounts receivable management, cost structures, financing mechanisms, etc.
Strong project management and people skills
Experience in conducting presentations to leadership
Solid oral and written communication skills
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
MBA and/or MMHC advanced degree
Financial Certification such as CPA, CIA, etc.
Professional work in clinical operations, especially in outpatient settings such as ambulatory surgery centers, home health agencies, physician practices, cancer treatment centers, and imaging centers.
Prior supervisory experience with the ability to train a team to successfully develop and implement strategic financial plans and budgets in coordination with VUMC Finance leadership and clinical support functions
Proficient User of Business Objects and Hyperion
Comprehensive understanding and working knowledge of VUMC financial systems
